Ceremony of signing the Cooperation Agreement between Armenpress News Agency and VNA News Agency

Vahram Kazhoyan Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam participated in the ceremony of signing of the Cooperation Agreement between Armenpress News Agency and VNA News Agency, held in the online hybrid format, on November 14, 2023.

Mrs. Vu Viet Trang, Director-General of the VNA News Agency and Mrs. Narine Nazaryan, Director of Armenpress News Agency delivered their speeches, followed by the speech of the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Mr. Vahram Kazhoyan.

In his speech Ambassador Kazhoyan congratulated Armenpress and VNA News Agency on the occasion of the signing of the Agreement, noting that it will contribute to the exchange of information about two countries, from trustworthy sources. Ambassador Kazhoyan also made a brief historical overview of the relations between Armenia and Viet Nam, noting that the visit of the first President of Viet Nam Ho Chi Minh, to Armenia on July 21-23, 1959 opened the new page of cooperation between two peoples. The opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Viet Nam ten years ago in 2013, furthered the relations between the two states.

The Ambassador also recalled the meeting with the former Director-General of VNA News Agency, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, that had taken place on October 31, 2019, during which he had proposed the signing of such an agreement on cooperation, adding that the COVID-19 did not allow to carry out work on the finalization of the Agreement in time. However, on November 14, 2023 it became a reality.

Narine Nazaryan, Director of Armenpress News Agency, in her speech mentioned that the Agency has signed Cooperation Agreements with news agencies of around 30 countries. She also informed that in 2013 the agency celebrates the 105th anniversary of its establishment. Mrs. Nazaryan expressed hope that the cooperation between the News Agencies of the two countries will be productive and will contribute to the further deepening of the relations between two countries.

Mrs. Vu Viet Trang, Director-General of VNA News Agency, in her turn, noted that November 14 is a memorable day for Armenpress News Agency and VNA News Agency. Mrs. Trang pointed out that the signing of the Agreement and mutual visits by the journalists of the two Agencies in the future, will allow to deepen the relations between Armenia and Vietnam, as well as fill in the existing information gap about the two countries.

The Director-General of VNA News Agency expressed her gratitude to Ambassador Kazhoyan and the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Viet Nam for promoting the cooperation between the two News Agencies.

Mrs. Araks Kasyan, Deputy Director of Armenpress News Agency, Ms. Doan Thi Tuyet Nhung, Deputy Director-General of VNA News Agency, Ms. Tam Nguyen, Assistant to the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia and other officials attended the ceremony of signing of the Cooperation Agreement between Armenpress and VNA News Agencies.
